  • Image Resource Guide

The Image Resource Guide covers a variety of topics: searching for images, requesting images, using your images, storing your images, and copyright. You will also find several links to image collections from around the world devoted to many subject areas in addition to art. It also is a helpful resource containing RSS feeds from museum podcasts and international art news.

  • Art and Art History Department Book Reference & DVD Collection

The Art and Art History department maintains a collection of reference books, which can be viewed during work-study hours posted each semester.

The department has a collection of DVDs relating to the subject and study of art. The videos are only available for use in the classroom.

  • ARTstor

Boatwright Memorial Library subscribes to ARTstor, a database containing more than one million images for both teaching and learning purposes. Local collections (15,000 images digitized to meet local teaching needs) are also delivered in ARTstor and can searched with the other collections.

These collections can also be browsed individually by navigating to the database and then clicking the “University of Richmond Teaching Image Collection” or “University of Richmond Scholar’s Resource Images” links.

ARTstor is available only to the University of Richmond community. Once a log-in and password are established, images may be organized, studied and downloaded for use in presentations and term papers from either on or off-campus.
