Artist Scholar Designation within Richmond Scholars
Each year, the University awards up to six full-tuition visual/performing arts scholarships within the Artist Scholars designation of the Richmond Scholars Program. Richmond Scholar awards go to first-year students who have demonstrated extraordinary academic achievement, exceptional personal qualities and potential for ongoing contributions to society; in addition, Artist Scholars demonstrate extraordinary talent and a clear passion for visual or performing arts. All U.S. and international first-year admission applicants are eligible for consideration.

Philip Frederick, Jr. Memorial Award in Art
Established in 1981 by Ms. Ann P. Frederick, this award honors a student in visual and media arts practice or art history on the basis of character, ability and academic excellence as determined by the Department of Art and Art History’s chair and faculty.
Bobby Chandler Annual Award in Art from the Kip Kephart Foundation
Established in 1989 by Mr. Homer H. "Kip" Kephart in memory of Mr. Bobby Chandler, this award is a cash prize given to an outstanding art major as selected by visual and media arts practice and art history faculty.
