    GM Keaton is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Richmond, Virginia. Their work weaves together queer theory, ecological thinking, animal, and material studies to explore the co-constituting relationships we have with one another and the environment. GM holds an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BFA in Media Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. They currently teach in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Richmond.

    Their work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions, including Night Tending at Yeh Art Gallery in Queens, NY and Conscious, Subconscious at The Anderson Gallery in Richmond, VA. Other artist-run exhibitions include The Crocus Call at High Tide Gallery, Philadelphia, Fanta Morgana at 5075 Hill in Richmond, and Spore Count at Tony Clare Gallery in Minneapolis. Additional venues include The Soap Factory, Minneapolis, Vox Populi Gallery, Philadelphia, and David Petersen Gallery, Minneapolis, among others. Awards include the Jerome Foundation Emerging Artist Fellowship, a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship in New Media.
