Bertrand Morin

Bertrand Morin, ’11, is in his thesis semester of an MFA in Visual Studies at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. He participated in the 2015 Signal Fire Artist Residency and spent a week backpacking through northern Arizona with eight other MFA candidates from around the country, collaborating on projects as they went. He works as a preparator/art handler at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, OR, and runs marathons in his spare time. In reflecting on his experience at UR, he said, “a liberal arts education has been crucial in the development of my artistic practice; it allowed me to cross-pollinate my interests before fully focusing in on my graduate school work. My degree in studio art has given me an analytical and critical lens through which to better examine the world around me.”
