“Artist Scholars” Within Richmond Scholars Program
Within each entering first-year class, the University awards 50 full-tuition Richmond Scholar awards to students who have demonstrated extraordinary academic achievement, exceptional personal qualities and potential for ongoing contributions to society. All domestic and international first-year admission applicants are eligible for consideration.
Annually, up to two Richmond Scholars are designated as "Artist Scholars." They demonstrate extraordinary talent and a clear passion for visual or performing arts and are paired with arts faculty mentors to maximize opportunities to develop students' talents. Learn more about the program.
Guy A. Ross Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming student in any arts discipline who is high achieving with demonstrated talent and a passion for the visual and performing arts. The next award will be given to a student entering Richmond in the fall of 2009.
Philip Frederick, Jr. Memorial Award in Art
Established in 1981 by Ms. Ann P. Frederick, this award honors a student in studio art or art history on the basis of character, ability and academic excellence as determined by the Department of Art and Art History’s chair and faculty.
Bobby Chandler Award in Art
Established in 1989 by Mr. Homer H. "Kip" Kephart in memory of Mr. Bobby Chandler, this award is a cash prize given to an outstanding art major as selected by studio art and art history faculty.
